Sell Your Coins in South Australia
Have a coin or banknote collection to sell in Adelaide or regional South Australia? Sydney-based Ensleigh Coins welcomes enquiries from across the state. Send photographs and your location for an initial assessment for purchase, then we can discuss any further information, inspection or handover arrangements needed.
Send photos of your collectionWhat we buy
- Mint-issued products and boxed collections: Royal Australian Mint, Perth Mint and international mint issues, including silver proof coins, uncirculated sets, proof sets, gold sets and uncirculated mint-issued coins. Packaged mint product is of particular interest.
- Suitable Australian pre-decimal coins: threepences, sixpences, shillings, florins and crowns, including key dates.
- Sovereigns, half sovereigns and other suitable gold coins.
- Collectible banknotes: pre-decimal, paper decimal and polymer notes, from single notes to full collections.
- Graded coins, genuine rarities and specialist material: including PCGS graded coins, key date coins and high-value numismatic items.
- Mixed and inherited collections: family collections and deceased estates.
You do not need to identify, catalogue or value every item before contacting us. Send photographs first and we will assess whether your collection is suitable for purchase.
What we generally don’t buy
- Ordinary Australian decimal coins from circulation, including HH $2 coins and commemorative coins found in change
- Common circulated pennies and halfpennies, except key dates or uncirculated examples
- Ordinary modern non-silver world coins brought home from travel
Key dates, genuine rarities and uncirculated examples can be exceptions. If you are unsure, include them in your photographs.
Send photographs, a brief description and your location. For larger collections, start with overview photographs and a few representative close-ups. You do not need to identify or value every item before contacting us.
We respond to enquiries within 48 hours.
This is a free assessment for potential purchase, not a formal insurance or probate valuation.

Selling from Adelaide or regional South Australia
If you’re in Adelaide or regional South Australia, send photographs, your location and an indication of the collection’s size. For example, tell us whether you have a few individual pieces, several albums or boxes of material.
Ensleigh Coins is based in Sydney. An initial review of your photographs helps us assess whether the collection is suitable for purchase and what further information or inspection may be needed. Any inspection or transport arrangements are agreed before you send anything.
If your collection includes an Adelaide Pound or other material associated with the 1852 Bullion Act, our specialist guide explains more about these coins.
Appointments and collection visits
Interstate collection visits are generally considered for collections valued at $20,000 or more, subject to the collection, location and prior agreement. This is a travel guideline, not a minimum for enquiring. If you’re unsure of your collection’s value, start by sending photographs.
Lyn and Merrlyn’s collection: purchased in Adelaide
Ensleigh Coins purchased Lyn and Merrlyn’s substantial mixed collection in Adelaide, bringing together Australian mint sets, gold coins and silver across several collecting series.
The collection included Australian proof and uncirculated sets from the 1980s through to the 2000s, Masterpieces in Silver sets and Birds of Australia silver coins. Silver Kookaburras ranged from one-ounce coins to ten-ounce examples and a one-kilogram coin.
Alongside these were Australian $200 gold coins, a quarter-ounce gold Nugget, hundreds of 1966 round silver 50-cent pieces and pre-decimal silver coins.
This purchase illustrates the variety we consider within a single collection—from mint-issued sets and commemoratives to gold coins and accumulated silver.
If you have a collection in Adelaide or regional South Australia, send overview photographs, a brief description and your location. You do not need to identify or value every item before contacting us.

Terms and Conditions
Our free assessment is for people considering selling to Ensleigh Coins. We may decline to assess or make an offer on material that falls outside our buying interests, has limited resale value or is not being offered for sale. If we cannot assist, we will explain why.
If we make an offer but the collection is found to be either faulty, contains forgeries or fakes or has any other significant defects that were not disclosed during the assessment process, we reserve the right to withdraw our offer. Payment will be made by electronic transfer via OSKO. This, however, may not always be instantaneous and may result in processing times in excess of 24 hours. Unfortunately, this is out of our control.
