Sell Your PCGS Graded Coins

Ensleigh Coins buys suitable PCGS-graded coins, from individual pieces to specialist collections. We consider Australian, British and world coins across a wide range of dates, denominations and grades.

Submit your graded coins

NGC-graded coins and mixed graded collections also welcome for assessment.

Five Irish Ormonde money silver coins of 1643–44 in PCGS holders: crown, half crown, shilling, sixpence and groat

The variety of graded coins we consider

Australian pre-decimal coins

Pennies, halfpennies, threepences, sixpences, shillings, florins and crowns, including key dates, scarce varieties and better-quality examples.

Sovereigns and gold coins

Australian and British sovereigns and half sovereigns, together with suitable historical and modern gold coins from other countries.

Early Australian rarities

Adelaide pounds, holey dollars, dumps and other specialist colonial material.

British and world coins

Collectible coins from Britain, Europe, the Americas, Asia and other regions, including gold, silver and base-metal issues.

Modern collector coins

Suitable Australian decimal issues, proof coins, mint releases and modern world coins. Assessment depends on the issue and demand, not just the number on the label.

Errors, varieties and specialist collections

Recognised mint errors, attributed varieties and collections assembled by date, mint, denomination, ruler or theme.

We also welcome enquiries about NGC-certified ancient coins, including Greek, Roman and Byzantine material.

Circulated and uncirculated grades considered

A collectible coin does not need a very high grade to interest us. A scarce issue in circulated condition can deserve close attention, while a common modern coin with a high numerical grade may have limited demand.

  • Circulated coins with collectible interest.

  • Mint State coins.

  • Proof coins.

  • Coins in holders carrying a Details designation.

If a holder identifies cleaning, damage or another issue, you can still submit the coin for assessment. The nature of the problem and the underlying coin affect suitability and value.

What a grading label tells us

Depending on the coin, a label can show:

  • The identified coin and date.

  • Mint or variety information where attributed.

  • A grade or Details designation.

  • Additional designations where applicable.

  • A certification number.

The holder is a useful starting point, but we assess the coin as well as its label.

Two coins with the same numerical grade can differ in eye appeal, surfaces and market demand. Certification alone does not establish a purchase price.

How we assess graded coins

Grading costs, dealer asking prices and published price guides do not automatically translate into the amount a buyer will pay.

  • The issue, date, mint and attributed variety.

  • Grade and any additional label designations.

  • The coin’s visible quality and eye appeal.

  • Rarity and collector demand.

  • Relevant completed sales.

  • Precious-metal content where applicable.

  • Any condition issues or holder damage.

  • Provenance where available.

Sell directly to Ensleigh Coins

We assess the coins and, if suitable, make an offer to purchase. If you accept, we agree the inspection, handover and electronic payment arrangements.

For suitable coins and specialist collections, auction provides another selling option. We can discuss estimates, applicable fees and timing before you decide.

What to send

For a large collection, start with overview photographs and a selection of readable labels. You do not need to prepare a complete catalogue before enquiring.

Photographs allow an initial review. We may request further information or physical inspection before confirming an offer or auction suitability.

We respond to enquiries within 48 hours.

Our free initial assessment is for possible purchase or auction suitability. It is not a formal insurance or probate valuation.

  • Clear photographs of the front and back of each holder, where practical.

  • Readable labels and certification numbers.

  • Close-ups showing the coins through their holders.

  • An overview and approximate quantity for larger collections.

  • An existing inventory, if available.

  • Your location.

Keep coins in their grading holders. Please do not crack them out, clean them or attempt to repair damaged holders. Contact us before posting or delivering anything.

Questions

Do you only buy PCGS coins?

No. We also consider NGC-graded coins and collections containing both graded and ungraded material.

Will you consider lower-grade or Details coins?

Yes. Suitability depends on the individual coin, its condition and demand. A high numerical grade is not a requirement.

Does a high grade guarantee a high value?

No. The issue, rarity, demand and individual coin matter alongside the grade.

Can I sell a whole graded collection?

We can assess the collection together and discuss suitable purchase or auction options. Acceptance of every item is not guaranteed.
