We acquire a diverse range of coins, including products from the Royal Australian Mint, Perth Mint, and international mints. Including silver proof coins, uncirculated sets, proof sets, gold sets, gold coins and uncirculated mint issued coins. Packaged mint product is of particular interest.
Our interests extend to both silver and gold coins, encompassing pre-decimal Australian coins such as Three-Pence, Six-Pence, Shillings, Florins, and Crowns, as well as gold denominations like Half-Sovereigns and Sovereigns. RAM rolls of any denomination and $2 'c' mintmark coins are always on our radar.
Moreover, we purchase key date coins and high-value numismatic items, alongside a keen interest in banknotes.
What we generally don’t buy
To avoid confusion, here are the coins we do not purchase:
- $2 Coins with "HH" Initials: These are not of interest.
- Circulated Coloured $2 Coins: We do not buy these.
- Post-1966 Circulated Decimal Currency: Including 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1, and $2 coins that you may have found in your change.
- International Non-Silver Coins (20th and 21st Centuries): Coins acquired during international travel that are not made of silver.
Key dates, genuine rarities and uncirculated examples can be exceptions. If you are unsure, include them in your photographs.

Appointments and collection visits
Interstate collection visits are generally considered for collections valued at $20,000 or more, subject to the collection, location and prior agreement. This is a travel guideline, not a minimum for enquiring. If you’re unsure of your collection’s value, start by sending photographs.
George’s collection: purchased in Melbourne
Ensleigh Coins visited George in Melbourne and purchased his extensive collection of gold sovereigns, presentation sets and modern silver collector coins.
His collection included historic sovereigns from the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth mints, with Sydney Mint examples dating back to the 1860s. Sovereigns and half-sovereigns sat alongside larger two-pound and five-pound gold pieces, plus modern issues from The Royal Mint and Perth Mint.
The collection also contained Australian and international silver proof coins, including Masterpieces in Silver, Perth Mint Opal and Treasures of Australia issues, together with commemorative coins and themed mint collections.
Our visit meant George could deal with us in Melbourne without bringing his collection to Sydney. The purchase covered a broad mix of historic gold and modern collector material.

What photographs should I send?
Use the enquiry form to send photographs, a brief description and your location. For larger collections, start with overview photographs and a few representative close-ups.
Do I need to know what my coins are worth?
No. You do not need to identify or value every item before contacting us. Send photographs first and we will assess whether your collection is suitable for purchase and, where appropriate, make an offer or explain what further information or inspection is needed.
Is this a formal valuation?
Our free assessment is for people considering selling to us. It is an assessment for purchase, rather than a formal insurance or probate valuation.
What if my coins are worn or in poor condition?
Condition matters, but it is not the only factor. Value depends on several things, including rarity and demand. Ordinary circulated coins are generally not of interest, while key dates and genuine rarities can be worth assessing even when worn. If you are unsure, include them in your photographs.
How does payment work?
If you accept our offer, we agree the inspection and handover details and pay by electronic transfer once the purchase is finalised. Payments are made via OSKO, which is not always instantaneous and may take more than 24 hours to process.
Can you arrange a collection visit in Victoria?
Ensleigh Coins is based in Sydney, so any visit in Victoria depends on the collection, its location and prior agreement. As a guide, interstate collection visits are generally $20,000 or more. This is not a minimum for sending an enquiry. Send photographs first and we will let you know whether a visit, an appointment or another arrangement is appropriate.

Terms and Conditions
Our free assessment is for people considering selling to Ensleigh Coins. We may decline to assess or make an offer on material that falls outside our buying interests, has limited resale value or is not being offered for sale. If we cannot assist, we will explain why.
If we make an offer but the collection is found to be either faulty, contains forgeries or fakes or has any other significant defects that were not disclosed during the assessment process, we reserve the right to withdraw our offer. Payment will be made by electronic transfer via OSKO. This, however, may not always be instantaneous and may result in processing times in excess of 24 hours. Unfortunately, this is out of our control.
